    Chefs Choice Trizor Electric Sharpener

I have every stone and every wheel and every system and none of them work at all with me using them.
What is your opinion of this electric sharpener for someone who can't sharpen anything?
The title should read Trizor but for some reason I can't edit it.

I have the Chef's Choice edge select and while it will give you a decent edge, it chews through the steel pretty good. I started using stones and I get a much better edge and save a lot of steel.

In my opinion, the motorized sharpeners require their own technique. Doing it right without overheating, or grinding away far too much of the life of the knife, is not automatic.

You can screw up any knife, cheap or expensive, in very little time, with a motorized sharpener.

If I were sharpening for a living, I would bend that way because of the great speed, but heat and excessive wear are a big deal to a knife, so I would practice on scrap.

I would say this to Mr. Lynn, who is very helpful to folks on this board:

"If you've tried the Spyderco Sharpmaker and it didn't work for you, it is probably time to find a pro service."
"Self defense is not a fashion show. A defensive handgun is not a little black dress, or a purse."
Remember, the overwhelming majority of anti-gun thinkers are not stupid enough to be "afraid of guns." They are afraid of stupid/immature/crazy psycho people with guns.
And as always, being friendly, courteous, and respectful is the easiest way to bend people to your will.

I have it, just throwing out a number, lets say it gets your blade to 85 - 90% peak sharpness in less than 30 seconds.

Do not use it on presentation, important knives, or incredibly expensive knives.
It's just a tool to keep your tools sharp.

I use it on all my workhorse kitchen knives and yes I like it, saves me a bunch of time and keeps my knives sharp and in good working order.
