I bought a Chris reeves umnumzaan tanto. The main portion of the blade is a regular v bevel grind from what I can tell and the tanto point is convex. can I use a strop on EVERY type of bevel and not just the convex? I understand I need to sharpen the blade segments separate to not mess up the tanto edge but can you use a strop on all types of grinds? Thanks!

You can strop any edge. All you are trying to do is to refine the cutting edge.
A convex grind will be stronger but will not bite into the material as well as a bevel or hollow grind even if both edges are sharpened to the same degree due to the different angle of attack.
That will only make a significant difference depending on the material you are cutting...Woodcarvers understand this well.
Sharp is sharp either way.Comment
