decent sharpener?

Looking for something to use in the home to sharpen kitchen knives and scissors? Are any of those TV gadgets worth it? Said sharpener would also have to be used by 74yr old (very young at heart) family member so keep that in mind...

I have attempted to but as I stated in my post looking for something simple... sharpening stone or standard suggestions I have already looked into not applicable to my situation... sorry just not going to expect to hand over a belt sander to an older family member

My mom, 74 year old, extremely un-mechanically inclined uses a Work Sharp just fine. I just didn't give her any med or corse belts because she draws the blades through VERY slowly and they're just too aggressive for her.

I use a G5 broadhead sharpener to sharpen my knives. I don't know if it would work for scissors put it sharpens knives with a couple of light pulls.
