    Wilson Combat

    Want to buy Wilson Combat
    .45.
    5 inch barrel.
    West Los Angeles.
If it has a light rail that is a bonus.
    Thanks

No problem. Hope you find something before the end of the year. George is a major Wilson player and very easy to work with so you are in good hands.

          Wilson Combat

Do you know how shooters feel about having a rail on 1911?
Are the different models of Wilson much different from each other?
I'm new to the world of 1911.
          Thanks

Sorry this is just a two way conversation but here you go.

1.) Do you care for rails yourself? No ones opinion matters on this but your own. If you intend to mount stuff like lights go for it. If no expected use than don't.

2.) Wilson makes a full size, a compact and a sub compact and some in between like full size frame but compact barrel. Decide on your purpose before you choose the size.

If you mean craftsmanship options like normal, elite, super grade, I don't have much to say. Can anyone tell the difference? I don't think I could. Two regular cqb over one super grade math makes more sense to me. If you can make a super grades worth of money in the time it takes you to read this post than get a super grade.

The question you didn't ask is what about 1911 in a caliber other than .45acp. Personal choice.

Rent some 1911 and check them out!

Thanks OP for starting this thread and Glocker for good wisdom-

I passed this to my nephew to read as he wants a few Wilsons before year end. His delimma is bull barrel or bushing barrel. In addition he's looking for a 4" model with the flange barrel, tactical professional model and he's not sure whether the recoil of that will kick his butt vs a full 5"

                Thanks guys

                  Wilson Combat Or NightHawk

Unless you go ultralight carry, the frames are made of steel so these are heavy and beefy guns. Recoil is light compared to a glock caliber to caliber. You can also chamber in 9mm as well instead of 45acp. Barrel length depends on the function. Longer is always better for recoil and accuracy unless you plan to conceal.

Appreciate your feedback, I told my nephew the same. He's not going to be using as CCW, just wanted to purchase a 5" and thought of the 4" Professional to mix up his collection. His thoughts were having two 5" Wilson's were redundant. He's certain he only wants Wilsons in 45acp though, not in any other caliber.

I'll share with the forum pictures once my new one arrives and as soon as he gets his :-)

Thanks: I talked to joe rankin arms. He is out of state. He only has one California Wilson, and it is on the higher side of what I want to pay, especially adding tax, shipping, and my FFL charges $100 plus $35 DROS. This is his website if you want to check out his Wilsons.

Are you needing a CA Wilson specifically?
