I bought my wife a Mossy 500 youth model 20 gauge for Xmas last year.

It was on sale at Turner's for $249.95 + tax $ DROS (Regular price is $269.95). Came with 3 inter-changeable chokes. Short pull stock, points nice, lightweight, goes BANG when needed and the action is like buttah.

Nice collection, I was hoping to pick one up here, but it looks as if it will be turners or big 5, thanks for the info.

Call around to local gun stores I found my sons High Standard fo 100 bucks. It has a full choke but it was easy for him to get used to and knocks down birds.

What age did he start shooting a shotgun? I've been poking around for one for my son, but I'm taking my time as I don't think he's ready for a shotgun yet because of his size.
Responsibility wise, he's more than ready. He has his own Henry Mini-Bolt and before we shoot we recite the rules, go over safety and after he disassembles his gun. He also applies all the rules to his toy guns as well.
The only I don't let him do is clean because I don't have latex gloves small enough for his hands.

he is 9 years old, he has been shooting with me for a year a half now, and I was able to get him in a hunters safety class with the 4H. I had to wail till I was 11 simply becasue I couldent get hte class.
