WANTED: 2 Stroke motorcycle mechanic - OC Area

Ive got an 85 LT250R that lost compression a couple years ago in Glamis. My quad has been sitting at my parents house and they want me to get it out. PM me if you have the skills to get this bad dog screamin again. Thanks.

To far, but probably needs a piston/rings and a set of reeds.

Very easy to pull cylinder off and take it to a shop and have them check the bore size and see if you need it bored out to the next size piston, after they tell you that info, as easy getting online in order a piston/rings bearing gaskets (top end kit) YouTube might have a video of how to do this.

what he ^^ said, but slightly more complex.
2strokes are easy and fun to work on, and 'top ends' are about as easy as it gets in respects to engine work. if you do end up doing a top end on it, make sure you break it in properly and let it run/cool down, run/cool down so that everything breaks in/sets up properly. also run your premix on the rich side the first few rides.

but if you dont want to do it, i run my own mobile mechanic business and can do it for you.
If you suck with irons you will suck with optics. The difference is the aimpoint will allow you to suck faster and a scope will give you a closer look at how much you suck.
AR's have finally become full blown "men's barbie dolls" now with fashion accessories.

I would recommend going with L.A. Sleeve I have done a couple top ends one on my 1994 YZ250 and one on my 1986 TRX250r. Cheapest way to go in my opinion is: by a manual if you don't already have one, remove head and insect all parts look for scratches on the piston skirt and cylinder wall, I have sleeved both of my heads and would not go any different, but you can use a ball hone if its a steel sleeve. L.A. sleeve has everything you need and does the work perfect. They also include instructions on the break in process. Good luck. If you have any questions shoot me PM me and I will do my best to help.
