Give Marin Firearms a call tomorrow, there located in Novato in Marin county. a couple of weeks ago i called them asking about anacondas, and we got onto the subject of Pythons the guy there told me that one of his employees a think his name is rick had a mint in box colt Python 6 inch royal blue, selling it for $1600.

I asked him what year it was but he did not know, which i thought was strange , but anyway maybe he has it for sale still. if he has its worth checking out, i have one already mine is from 1977 its the real royal blue polished finish, now there is a difference, you want to look for a python that is no younger than around 1982 in 84 colt had a 4 year strike and most of there gun smiths left after that the quailty and finish went down hill on all pythons ive compared mine to later modles and there is a huge difference in the blueing. so if this guy still has his for sale for that price it needs to be mint and of a earlier model than 1983 60s and the 70s are the best years.

If that dont pan out then try sportsman supply in campbell down past San Jose they had a 70s python in a couple of months ago which they kept in the back so they still might have it, i think they wanted $1500 or $1600 just act like they showed you it and you are still wondering if they have it still, i personnelly think its not worth that much as its not mint shows some wear on wood grip blueing looks good but needs a good clean. 6 inch barrel. Lastly try the gun exchange they might not have one in at the moment, but the boss there will look out for one for you but you will have to keep calling in to check. hope this helps some, Best David.
