    Bolt Action Rifle

I am starting to think about getting a quality bolt action rifle. I'm looking for advice from CalGunner's that have longer-term experience using bolt-actions. I don't plan hunting anytime soon, but want that option as well as a rifle that is versatile and high quality. Thanks in advance.

Take a look at the Remington 700 SPS or XCRII: http://www.remington.com/product-fam...model-700.aspx

Depends on what you want to do.

        I hunt with a .308 Sako

I shoot Rifle Matches with a Springfield 1903 and K31.

Learn to reload if you shoot anything other than .223. Noting beats having plenty of practice ammo and with a little tweaking you can improve your accuracy with custom reloads.

Get a 700 sps-v in .308. Mod it, shoot the crap out of it, learn it. By the time you put 3k+ rounds through it, you will know what you like and don't like. Then go for "high quality" ie a custom bolt rifle.

In the meantime, learn and start reloading. Come to caprc.com
