want a good, inexpensive, authentic ak-47

Ive read the debates about wasr, saiga, arsenal, stamped vs milled...

Id like a reliable out of the box new or good used model. want the original equipment but if the mods are included as well thats fine. I just dont want something with unique/hard to find or costly parts. Or inconsistent quality as the AK has the dubiuous distinction of glock reliability but somewhat moderate accuracy. that leads me to the M+M brand at Buds. I dont know it and dont want to pay for Arsenal, so I am thinking Century/GP WASR.

Am I wrong?

All AK's are built to about the same standards. Your better off with a WASR or converted Saiga. I wouldn't worry about finding unique or hard to find parts. Go with something simple and cheap. If I bought another AK, it would be a WASR. They run just fine from what I've heard.

Don't buy century their new crap looks worse than used. Century is bottom of the barrel for quality

I had EVERYONE tell me to get a WASR. I was super excited until I actually got mine today. Not only did it look like crap, it also felt like crap. I am going to have to spend money replacing the wooden furniture, because I don't think it is worth my time refinishing that crap. I spent hours just to take it apart, because all of the parts were stuck like hell, and now I can't even put it back together, because the parts don't seem to fit right. I would say to spend a little more money and get something you will really enjoy.

Maybe after I give it a bit of TLC, it'll be a great gun, but I hate that it was such a PITA out of the box.
