    WTB: SA 1911 - 9105LP

I'm hoping, praying, that somebody wants to part with a TRP Operator. I have a upcoming class at Frontsight that I want to take a shiny 1911 to. I saved up my pennies and went to Targetmasters in Milpitas...they sold it!! And the 9105 is on backorder! *Sniff*

Like a fool I sold my Kimber Custom Classic when I was in a financial pinch. Now the only pistol of mine I'd be willing to take is a G22. Not a bad pistol, but no 1911.

If anybody is considering selling a 1911 with:
    adjustable night sights
    blue frame and slide
    funnel bottom
    tactical rails

    Please IM or reply.

    Thanks for reading!

Where are you located and how soon do you need it? Just some thoughts, I don't like to push retail stuff but:

Not a TRP, but ASC in San Diego has a Sig GSR Revolution Target in stock that is about to hit the shelves on sale. Matte finish, rail, adjustable night sights, beveled magwell. We originally sold it @ $1100; the purchaser put 200 rounds through it and was having some FTExtracts. It was sent back to Sig where they put 100 rounds through it and tell us it's fine (but the extractor is new ) and we have since put 50 rounds through it and it functioned flawlessly. My thought is that they fixed it (and/or it finished break in) and just didn't want to admit it left the factory with a faulty extractor in the first place. Anyway, it is good to go now and will be put out probably around $899. It is technically used, but has only seen ~350 rounds.

Personally I'd want the TRP as well, but I thought I'd mention that. The TRP wouldn't let you survive a lengthy class anyway if you weren't shooting in gloves. That checkering is nice for short sessions and great with gloves, but w/o gloves, especially in the cold, it'll eat your hands up. We could likely get a line on a TRP for you as well, but our current retail on those is ~$1650. They've been a little hard to come by, especially direct, so they're not cheap. For $1700-1800 you should be able to get yourself a Baer TRS, which would be an even better choice for Gunsite/Frontsite.

Best of luck with your search and the class.

      Retail vs PPT

Hi slick_711, thank you very much for your post.

I'm up north, in San Jose. You make a really good point. I haven't fired the 9105, but I did notice the checkering was pretty abrasive.

I'm going to research that Sig. I love deals like that! Do you have any pictures?
