M9 is the military designation for a 92fs is the civi designation. they are the same gun excpet for the the stamping on the slide and on the top of the backstrap is cut out a little more on the 92fs so to get a higher grip on the gun,

google search "differances bewtween m9 and 92fs" and check the pictures to see what im talking about
