Okay, so I know this is a long shot, but I would really like to find one of these to add to my high grade Browning shotgun collection. I am looking for the fully engraved Browning High Power Renaissance. I can find plenty of these online, but since they are not on the roster, I can't get it. I am hoping to find one in state. Anyone see one around, please let me know!

Okay so I am thinking single shot is the way to go on this now...NRA Benefactor Member sigpic -
The Browning Hi-Power Renaissance is on the ATF's C&R list, meaning that it is exempt from being on California's certified roster. This means that the entire country is your shopping ground. At least, it was on the ATF's C&R list when I bought mine. I am not sure why it is no longer on the list, but you can find it in older versions, such as this one: http://www.makarov.com/pdf/curio.pdf
See the bottom of page 15. I have a printed copy of the ATF's C&R list that I used as the basis for getting mine.Comment

Wow okay...good information. So, anyone know whit is to on the list anymore? I took a glance at the list I got with my C&R license and it's not on there. Is that normal for something to make the list and then get dropped?NRA Benefactor Member sigpicComment

I have kept the April 2004 revision of the ATF's 2001 "Firearms Curios or Relics List" in printed and bound form, as sent to me by the ATF, and page 18 has the following:It seems goofy that an entry would get dropped. Anyway, I have kept this printed publication to show proof of its C&R status.Browning Arms Company "Renaissance" engraved FN Hi Power pistol, cal. 9mm, 1954 to 1977.Comment

FYI, the 9MM Renaissance was distributed in two versions. The first version has a bobbed hammer, the second version has a spur hammer. There is no practical difference between the two versions, but if collector value is important, the bobbed hammer version is probably more valuable.Okay, so I know this is a long shot, but I would really like to find one of these to add to my high grade Browning shotgun collection. BTW, Browning still builds these beauties in Belgium. There is about a year wait after an order and the price is just short of
$9000. There's a pretty good selection of them circa 60s - 70s on Gunsamerica for 3-4 k. Be sure you get it with the original pearl/nacra grips.

That is weird and has me a bit worried if an FFL would look at the new list and say it is not c&r and therefore must be on roster. Maybe it would be best go through the single shot route.I have kept the April 2004 revision of the ATF's 2001 "Firearms Curios or Relics List" in printed and bound form, as sent to me by the ATF, and page 18 has the following:
