    WTB: SCAM

Just a heads up to other CalGunners. I placed a WTB ad here a few weeks ago for a Desert Eagle. I found the gun I was looking for quickly and said so in a follow up post so I wouldn't be wasting anybody's time.

A couple days ago I get a reply from some clown wanting to sell me his gun. Im thinking.....Didnt you read the last post saying I already found it? Then I look at the wording of his email and his location.....the UK.

    Cut n paste email below.

"Do you still need the item(s) requested?....mine is in very good
condition. Let me know via email.

    Nick Dudfield.
30 Cutlers Ave, County Durham DH80AX, UK.
    nickdudfield1@gmail.com "

For anyone that has sold stuff on Craigs List recently, you will recognize this as either a Phishing scam or find live email addresses or an attempt to get you to send funds. I sold a SUV a few months ago on CL and was bombarded with "Is this item still available?" Emails. Being naive, I responded to the emails never to hear another word except to be flooded with spam.

In no way am I trying to blame Calguns. This is just the inherent risk with putting an ad online. Just trying to give folks a heads up that there are BG's looking here as well.

    Thanks,
    Christian
