Looking for rear and front sights for a US Springfield 1898. I got it from the CMP and it was no where near in the condition that I had hoped for. The stock was badly dinged, the blueing is nearly gone, and the barrel and original stock had been chopped down from "Infantry Rifle" length to "Cadet Length".
All of this is forgivable as long as I can shoot it. The gunsmith said its okay to fire. But it didn't even come with any sights!
I read somewhere that the 1898 can accept the 1902 sights (which are better than the 1898 ones). So I would like a set of those for my rifle if possible. Otherwise 1898 sights would do just fine. Located in Fresno.
