WTB S&W 547

I am in south Orange County, and am looking to buy a S&W model 547. My preference is for the 3" HB, round butt version, but I would also consider the 4" HB square butt version.

Good luck indeed - I have posted WTBs on this at the S&W forum as well, and have all my relatives and in-laws scouring gun shows fro Sacramento to San Diego - no luck at any price! I am at the point where I would consider the 4" square butt version as well, but my druthers would be for the 3" model.

Just noticed you are in California. I know I sent a S&W model 629 to a person in California, my local FFL did not have a problem sending it.

Approved Firearm List

Hi Redhawk1 - I sent you an email with details, but basically CA has an approved firearm list, and Jerry (moonbeam) Brown Jr, our former governor who wants to run again, basically will not allow anything not on the list into the state. All the local gunshops have told me the 547 isn't on the list, and if I can't find one already in CA, then I am out of luck. The 629 is on the list (http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/), but not the 547. Private party transfers are exempt if done F2F at a licensed gun dealer, but the firearm can not be brought into the state for the purpose of selling, I am told.
