This is a hail mary. I overextended this month a little through bad math and poor timing, but I have a carbine course to go to on the 12th of September and need to complete my rifle. I've got the lower. I could do 250 potentially, but I'll be honest, it's a bit of a stretch. Looked at the bear arms guys and their complete uppers, could get one, but the shipping time is too screwy to work with. such is life and ecomerce. Had an upper lined up, but wasn't aware that Optics world bows to compliance. Doh. Welcome back to Cali, I suppose (been out of the country a long time, what happened to ya'll while I was gone???)
So, do you have an old complete upper, but it's so beat to sheiza you know you can't post it in WTS as "new, never been fired" cause you love shooting and you've put 10,000, 100,000 rounds through it (like a rife should be)? As long as it feeds fires most of the time and -probably- won't explode in my face, I'll be happy (hey, always good to train malfunctions, right?)
Do you happen to be in Socal, (or are just cool and don't mind shipping to socal, but it's probably easier if I just ride over to you and pick up)?
Have you been eyeing those sweet labor day sales and thinking about upgrading but your wife tells you that money is for the baby's college fund? (psh, kids and their college, join up buddyboy, get that GI Bill! Daddy needs ammo and parts!)
or Maybe you've been looking at the WTS section and you wish you just had a just little more to get one of those 1000 dollar uppers everyone seems to have? (seriously, wow, ya'll got some nice stuff. A bit jealous, not gonna lie)
Well, then maybe we can help each other. Also, if 200-250 isn't enough, I'm a decently handy guy, and I am also a certified NRA pistol instructor and a former Army rifle instructor (well, "small arms weapons expert", but I don't see a lot of machine guns and things out here, so we'll go with rifles), so maybe we can work something out with some training or something. I've been teaching shooting for almost a decade. Pretty solid at what I do.
I know this page never gets looked at and when it does it is rarely replied to, I've glanced at the others post. It's bump bump bump, etc. But if you happen to cruise by and clicked on this thinking "WTF is this guy on?" (sleep deprivation mostly, for the record) and fit the above, you'd be helping a recently returned fellow Californian arm up and un**** poor decisions made for good reasons, (which I'll happily explain over a six-pack I'll bring with me if you're interested.), which'd be pretty rad if I say so myself. And as I said, I'd like to make sure we both feel helped at the end of the day.
And yes, I'm aware of how stupid and silly this sounds. Meh. Desperate times. Like I said, I'll be surprised if this even gets looked at, let alone responded to. But I've been scanning the forum for the last few days and ya'll seem like some standup dudes and dudettes, some real *ahem* straight shooters, if you will. har. So I figured it's worth a shot.
