I want to put it on my CCW card. It has to be a factory serialized frame purchased through an FFL in order to do that... In short, I like the grip angle of P80 frames better than Glocks.

          Why not do it yourself?

Please note, as of July 25, 2023, the Department made updates to the Unique Serial Number Application on the California Firearms Application Reporting System (CFARS). Applications can now be submitted through the updated system. On June 30, 2022, Governor Newsom signed Assembly Bill (AB) 1621 (stats. 2022, ch. 76), to halt the sale of unserialized firearm precursor parts in California and to ensure that individuals who already possess unserialized firearms or firearm precursor parts obtain a serial number from the California Department of Justice (Department).

Wish I could but PC 32000 says it has to have a micro stamp firing pin and a safety. Only way to make a legal p80 handgun in CA is if it is a single shot gun.

Unless you're roster exempt, you'll have to find one PPT from an exempt cop. Serialized P80s aren't on the roster either. They are more rare than a unicorn, good luck my friend

"polymer 80" is an 07FFL that offers serialized lowers? I wasn't aware such a thing exists. You might look at some of the other "glock" style lowers offered by other, actual FFLs. Zev now makes a glock-compatible lower, as does Faxon Firearms. Either would be insanely rare to find for PPT in CA, but they are at least a real thing.

Yes they make serialized lowers. But finding one in CA will be even rarer than finding a Zev frame.

OP may as well be asking for a unicorn that poops diamonds - but I wish him luck.

IANAL, but I don't see any wording in PC32000 about microstamping or a physical safety.

It's been a while since I've had to look this stuff up, what am I missing?

The link I provided states very clearly
Additionally, as of July 1, 2018, prior to manufacturing or assembling a firearm, a person shall apply to the Department for a unique serial number.
Meaning before 1 JULY 2018, a person could manufacture or assemble a firearm with any made up serial number they like, but after that, you had to get a unique serial from DOJ.

If DOJ is no longer allowing a person to manufacture their own firearm for personal use, why is the USNA page still active?

                      Something isn't adding up here.

Thanks. Do you know which store it was?
