      You need to find one made the first year in 1969 for it to be C&R.
      My Trooper is one of the last built in 1968 prior to the introduction of the III.
      Why do you want the III? The earlier Trooper is a better gun. The III was developed to make manufacturing easier and quicker (latin term for cheaper). It has coil springs, less hand fitting and the bluing doesn't measure up to an earlier model.
      The MKIII Lawman is a cheaper version of the cheaper MKIII Trooper.

        Still doing much research. Haven’t bought a revolver yet. I was just looking for something other then glocks in the safe. It’s crazy how many variations there are but I just thought that a trooper won’t break the bank as bad.

          Just get a current production revolver. Get a Smith and Wesson 686 in .38spcl / .357 magnum.

          The colt and smith collectables will be too expensive.
