WTB Backpack armor plate or similar

Longshot but I thought i'd try anyways. My kid is off to college in 3 weeks and i'm putting together a get home bag to keep in his car.
I'm in San Diego but willing to travel up to OC maybe even LA area for FTF transaction.

Current lead time for online orders is 10-12 weeks out so i'd figure i'd check here before i place an order this week. Willing to spend $50-$75 to pick up something locally like this:
