Starter 22 lr (preferrably youth and bolt action) ...

    Hi all,

I am looking for a good 22 lr rifle to get my son into target shooting with. I would prefer to go with a bolt action to slow down his rate of fire and get him to take his time.

I have had my eye on a Savage MK II GY (this is the youth model)

Anyone have any thing similar they are looking to offload?

    Thanks!

        Try BAGV in Mountain View

Try Bay Area Gun Vault in Mountain View. They had some nice and inexpensive used bolt actions there recently.

Funny you should mention them. I actually went there yesterday (for the first time) looking for this. They didn't show me anything used. The showed me a couple of new bolts, one that I really liked and am considering, but it was a little big for my son. I will check in there again as they had a decent selection of things that interested me and they seem like great people.

            Thanks.

Check out the Cricket. Ill teach my son basic gun safety on one of those, then move him up to a Ruger 10/22 youth model.
