WTB: Remington Model 11 barrel 12 guage

    Hola,

Picked up a nice C&R Remington Model 11 "the sportsman" in 12gauge. Looking for another barrel. The one on it is a bit rough. I'm entertaining open cylinder to full choke barrels. Even with poly-chokes

    Thanks,

    Craig

What price range? I'll look in my storage if reasonable. Say around eBay selling prices minus 15% plus shipping of course.

You might try looking for a Savage 700 series barrel (720,745,750,775) as these barrels were a direct copy of the Remington Model 11 (at least the later edition guns with the cross bolt safety). Oops, just noticed you specified a Sportsman, different barrel than the standard (recoil ring set farther back). Savage made a Sportsman replica as well, but these are fairly rare. Sorry!

"Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." ~ C. S. Lewis

It's my understanding the barrels are the same on the sportsman and regular model 11. I have read some earlier savage model 720 barrels can work with slight "fitting" to be done. But, i'd rather go down the Remington road first before grinding metal off a savage barrel that may or may not work.
