    WTB: .380

I am looking to get a .380 for the mrs. because of the easy handling. If you got one in the safe to unload give me a pm!

    Thanks,

    John

Bersa Thunders are good cheap guns. I would really reconsider getting anything in the 380 caliber though if I were you. Ammo is expensive compared to 9mm and the Bersa Thunder doesn't have much less kick than a 9mm.

I guess if you reload though or the lady is barely planning on firing it then it doesn't matter. I would definitely go the Bersa route.

Thanks for the input. She actually fired a colt .380 and liked it much more than my Taurus Pt99. The Taurus is a fairly weighty model that is why I was looking at the .380. I figured it would have less recoil, but all calibers are not equal are they?

I looked at a new Bersa in town and saw a Hipoint for very inexpensive. Thoughts?

How about a Remington Model 51 ? This .380 Caliber has the reputation of being the 'most natural pointing' pistol, it was designed by John Pederson, noted gun designer, who tested grip configurations on 100's of people to come up with this one.
This particular gun was made in the 40's, according to the serial number lookup, a WWII special run for the OSS. It was engraved some time later, but still quite a while ago. Shoots good, I have fired it. Two mags, couple boxes ammo, and the NRA book describing the take-down and assembly. $550.

Way Better Value; $650 for gun/mags, and: carbide reloading dies, 200 bullets (half lead round nose, and half Remington 102 gr hollow points), about 250 once-fired brass.

This way you can tailor loads for defense and for target. This is especially useful for getting the wife used to it; and then load it with Defense loads for the nightstand, or carry. I'll throw in some Red Dot powder, and small pistol primers. If you don't reload yet, add a $24 Lee Reloader Press and you're set. Includes the reloading data too.

Thanks for the offers. I think I might have what I want. Just need to finalize. Thanks again! This is such a great forum.
