    Mini 14 or 30

My buddy is looking to get his first rifle. I have kinda steered him towards the mini 14 or 30. If you have one you want to sell let me know. Does not have to be new.

Looking for something a little newer. Thank you though.

        I'd get the mini-14 over the mini-30.

The 14 shoots 5.56/.223 and it is less expensive.

        I'd also get a series 580.

I wouldn't get either. I recently bought a mini-30 around this time last year. It was a ***** to get magazines for the ones I got fit but you had to monkey with them for ever to get them out. Ruger's parts are expensive, scope rails and rings are redicuosly priced. The bolt is a mother to get in and out the insturctions actually say something about wiggleing. Then you get into the things Bill Ruger said that go against the 2A. Now the same problems might not occur with the Mini 14 but Bill still said what he said and that company should feel the pain for ever.
