I've been looking for a lighter conceal carry .45 and got to hold the XDS45 while in Vegas and loved the way it felt in my hands

I was thinking the same but the stopper for me is the 5 round magazine. I ended up getting a mod 2 SC 45 & the xdm compact 45. I love the mod 2 but I don't get the xdm for a couple wks

How much bigger and heavier are they compared to the XDS?

It's not much but pretty much doubles the mag size, both r 9 rounds. God forbid the gun is needed, u do not want to waste time reloading every 5 rounds

I haven't shot a XDS yet but I want to. The mod 2 is really smooth, it's my favorite gun so far but I have that xdm & fnx tac on the way

The xd subcompact looks, and feels, like a brick compared to the xds 45 3.3, and the xd 40 4" is much bigger overall compared to the xds.

The flush mag is 5 rounds for the xds 45 and the extended mags are 7 rounds with a grip sleeve, which gives more control of the gun.

I don't think I would conceal a full size or sub very well with the way I dress, but the xds will work at 3 oclock and would likely be even better in appendix carry. The xds feels like it would be more comfortable to carry every day than a bigger gun.

Many pros claim the ballistics on 9mm is comparable to 45 acp, with the right ammo. The 9mm xds holds more ammo, but they are not for sale as often as the 45acp and I don't know if they were not popular or if people end up not liking the 45 in such a small gun.

XDs does have 6 and 7 round mags as well, I love my XDs.
