Sorry, there's some in Sacramento, but that doesn't help you very much. Good luck in your search.

Even if he does, for handguns it is only helpful if he's traveling out of state.

Nope, I don't have a C&R, nor do I intend to get one, much as I'd like to have one if I lived somewhere other than L.A. County. I may be overly paranoid, but to me the requirement of notifying the CLEO in your area sounds like an open invitation to be one of the first targets for gun confiscations New Orleans style, if it comes to that. Besides, I don't like the idea of the ATF being able to come to my house to "inspect" my C&R guns. I'd rather pay the premium for the right (I know, I know, an often broken right) to tell them to go take a hike.

Besides, I don't think you can send a C&R handgun to an 03 FFL in CA, only long guns. So we're still talking $70 or so on top of the price, without actually being able to inspect the gun before buying it. So far I bought most of my used guns locally, inspected them prior to buying them, and I'm happy with all of the ones I bought locally. It was 50/50 with the ones I bought online.

Also, the gun already in CA is more likely to have 10-rnd mags. I saw J&G Sales seling CZ-82s both in CA-compliant (10-rnd mags) and regular (normal capacity mags) configurations for some time, but they only sell the ones with normal capacity mags, so I guess the CA-compliant mags aren't that common for these and J&G ran out of them.

Oh, and I'm patient. I'll be bumping this thread and reposting it until I find a good deal for a good gun

You might find somebody who will, but you're taking chances if you do. In other states you can do this, but CA strictly prohibits it.

Yep, not worth it. Pity though, there're so many nice C&R handguns online.
