Just a suggestion - why don't you just order one from CMP? Sure you will have to wait 30-60 days to get it BUT the rifle will be much less expensive to buy than anywhere else. They also ship it directly to your door.

      The order form:

I qualify everything except being in a "club or Org"
I thought that I could just buy someone elses garand they got from CMP.
It looks like I will eventually join some club and order one though.

Military should just automatically just qualify!!

Pathfinder, how much? feel free to PM me.

I honestly don't know. Probably. It was a CMP Greek return. Barrel looked new, maybe even unfired. Actually everything looked new except the gas block/tube. The stock was very rough. Like it wasn't quite finished. I finished it up and gave many coats of tung oil.

                beech

beech it is - carved by the finest Greek Cub Scout 3rd graders. That orange greek wood when soaked in cosmo will give the DuroLog a run for the money on the fireplace. Replacement stocks are cheap for Garands. You can join the Garand collectors for $25 a year to qualify for CMP. Unfortunately good wood on CMP garands is few and far between these days.

but does not exempt them from being in a club.
                  I emailed them.

I still have to join a shooting club.

The Garand Collectors Association also qualifies.
