With a limited Budget I'd get the Beretta for the less expensive ammo. Otherwise, I'd get a 1911. Kimber Custom II is Kimbers basic model. You should be able to get one NIB for less than $700. Teh Beretta should run you $400-$600 depending on if you get the INOX or not.

Also, What do you already have? If it's your first gun, Beretta 9mm. If you already have a 9mm and no .45 then get the 1911.

    I have both. The Beretta I have only because it's a beautiful gun, I'm a Glock Guy. I do have 5 1911's 3",4" & 5".

Either way you'll have a nice gun.

    Good luck on your decision.

I do have a couple of 1911s and I'm a 1911 guy. Kinda going for a Beretta 92fs because I miss my 9mm. used to have an XD9, but this time might want a steel frame and 92fs looks beautiful to me and I never had one and shot one, plus cheap ammo too! Thanks for the advice..

        92fs

Berreta 92FS doesn't have a steel frame, but aluminum. Othervise it is a beautiful gun, especially if you own regular capacity mags for it.

When I went to the American Shooting Center last August, they had Rock Island Armory 1911's in stock. You might want to check those out. They don't retail for more than $600.

Thanks, I saw that too yesterday, but not a big fan of RIs.

I love my Beretta-my first pistol bought in 93 and it keeps on going. You can find good deals in the sales forum on occasion, have seen quite a few this year.

I decided to go for 92fs. I have not had one yet and I have always had a 1911 so I want to try something new this time.!!!!
