I may have a rifle you are looking for. Mine is a Winchester Model 70, Push Feed, Mat Black with Laminated Stock in 223 WSSM. I think the barrel is a Medium Heavy. It's not a light rifle. This is one of the last guns from CT, so high quality. The 223 WSSM looks something like a 45-70 case with a 22 bullet on top, look up the specs. I think I have some ammo left for the rifle. I shot maybe 2 boxes through it. The first time out I shot one clean hole (3 shots) at 50 yards. The gun wants to shoot long range.

I shoot a Remington 223 at long ranges for squirrels. I have also used a 22-250. This rifle beats both of those, but comes at a cost. There is more recoil and muzzle blast than a 22-250. I notice the muzzle blast more than the recoil. It would be hard to shoot this rifle for the high volume (150-200+ shots per day) squirrel shoots. The ammo is expensive, so you are well served reloading for this. But if you need that long range shot for say Coyotes, you can't do much better.

If you ever change your mind, I have a Coyote Lite in 22-250 that I'd sell.
