    WTB Chevy LS Engine

Sort of a long shot for this forum, but I have a project car that I want to put an LS engine in. Looking for an LS1,2,or 6. Hoping to find someone that is parting out a car or knows someone that is.

What kind of car do you have? Just curious... Is it a Geo Metro?

Haha it's an old Porsche 914. I want to build a lightweight car with plenty of horsepower.

Pretty cool! Are you set on an LS engine? I saw a few 5.0 Ford engines on Craigslist.

Yeah. From researching other peoples' projects it sounds like the LS is the way to go. The only problem is trying to find one on a budget. It would be nice to just pick up a new crate engine from Chevrolet.

Lets take this a little further off track Dont rule out the cheaper more common Truck/Tahoe LS engines. There are a lot of go fast parts to make that cheap engine a little nicer.

Thank you. The title should say "WTT cash for LS engine". Seeing that what I am looking for isn't firearm related, I figured the non-firearm related sales section would be the better place to put it. I was feeling rebellious today.

My friends use to do this and upgrade the internals with LS1 components and boost the crap out of it... Good ol' high school days.

Consider the abundant 5.3 motor. Its cheaper and you can use the 5.7 internals.

i would personally go down to a junk yard with about 600 cash and pick up a 5.3l or 6.0l out of an older truck. ive seen the 5.3L make well into 400 hp with just heads, cam, and of course all basic supporting mods. not sure how much your looking to make hp wise. and if you know much about turbos ive seen stock bottom end 5.3l make 800hp at the wheels on minimal boost. just other options ive been looking for an ls6 for a while they arent cheap when they do pop up, and its rare for them to pop up. i might be switching to the 6.0 just to get the project going. good luck no matter what you do.
