Everyone should always have a knife on their person at all times. That's one of the first things my father ever taught me, right up there with stay out of traffic and don't play with fire.
My first knife was exactly like that long yellow jack knife in your photo -- my dad was an avid fisherman and it is a fishing knife with a de-scaler on it. I recognized it.
Jack knifes are somewhat preferable because you may conceal these, whereas fixed knives must be worn openly. But then a lot of guys wear their jack knives openly in pouches as well.
The open knife is actually the most deadly weapon within 7 yards than anything else, compared with a holstered pistol.
I don't see much use ever for a sword though.
A machete sure, and you could use your machete as a sabre if you had to. And there is a whole school of technique behind TWO machete's at once.
But swords ... I just donno.
Looks like you are getting out of the ninja business and liquidating your toys.
It would be fun to have a collection of military sabers -- Army, Navy, USMC etc. -- maybe if you have nothing else up on your wall in your den or man cave.Last edited by hks95134; 04-05-2014, 10:18 AM.Comment
