SOLD--- Honda 1,000 Generator (10hrs) for sale

    SOLD

    Located in Long Beach, CA

I have a near new, stored in the house for emergencies, generator up for sale. I used it a couple times car camping just to break in the engine and then it sits here for emergencies. We are moving and will need a larger gen so this one is up for sale. It comes with a camo cover. There is one small mark on it where I pulled the starter at an up angle and it scuffed the plastic by the starter handle. Other then that its like new. It will run for days on 1 gallon of gas. It also is the PURE Sine wave version so its safe for electronics. Im guessing it has 10 or less hours runtime.

    Asking 650.00 (cost 825new)

    Pictures supplied upon request......

So what does something like this power? I full size fridge?

And another kitchen item, like a range?

Can it do both at the same time?

    And for how long?

Basically I have to get over the mini outages we have for a few hours, to keep the food from going bad..

Can it do that? and for how long?

You need to find how many amps your appliance draws. Its on a tag on it, or in the manual. Lets say your fridge draws 8 amps. Turn that into watts by multiplying it by 120. That is 960 watts. Now look online at the generator specs. In this case the Honda EU1000i is rated at 1000 watts max surge and 900 watts continuous use. So, for this example, it would not run the fridge. FYI, ranges, microwaves, and AC's pull huge amounts of power, you need something in the 3000-5000 watt range to run those. Small 1000's are good for running lights, computer, and other small, low draw items.

        Well.......

I have a single door fridge and it ran that without even spinning up the motor. The motor was at 1/3rd rpm. I also plugged in my computer, fan, router, switch and one desk lamp. The motor was then running at 50%rpm. It has an eco-thottle that runs the correct rpm for load.

The gen would NOT run a 220v range. You are talking 30 amps for the range. Its also 110v not 220v.

I have run a radio, mini-compressor and skillsaw all at once. It might run one of those dinky 700w micowaves but I have never tried.

So you can run a ton of small items like TV, radio, battery chargers, laptop, computer, computer screen, routers, switches, lights, fans etc. It will also run a small toaster and coffee maker.

Big items like AC and ranges or huge double door fridge probably not.

The biggest advantage of the gen is its man/woman/child portable, sips gas by the ounce, runs very quiet, lightweight and uses a pure sine wave inverter safe for all electronics including chargers. Some chargers wont charge correctly with modified sine wave inverters.
