The shop next to mine. The owner just pickup a 92? maybe a bit newer Tahoe 2 door, 4 wheel drive. Very clean but 200,000 miles. It will have a new tranny in it, since thats the problem. He was talking about wanting $3000. Unfortunatley it's in Northern Cal. I'd buy it but I've got a K5.

K5s are pretty cool. They don't make SUVs like they used to. Everything is pretty much all plastic now
200k on that Tahoe is a lot of miles but the price is fair.

I may be selling my Diesel GMC Jimmy. I still haven't decided yet, but I'll let you know. I'm putting a transmission in it right now.

out of all those trucks you listed the Ford bronco or the K5 woould be the only ones I would look at.
The first two sit low to the ground have crappy IFS front suspensions and they drag *** for 4 wheeling. Everytime I go hunting there is usually one thats stuck or hung up because of low ground clearance or crappy street tires. Not to knock on the IFS blazers but they arent that great of a off road vehicle in stock form

I am leaning towards the 5.8L Bronco They are after all the cheapest. My trouble is finding one with less than 100k miles

Ive been trying to teach my dog to drive for months, does the GMC work better than the ford?

The ergonomics of the GMC interior certainly helps in the training department.

Another one you might consider is a Plymouth trailduster or a Dodge Ramcharger, they come Full time 4wd, all dana suspension with lockers, 360 or 440 motor with a 727 automatic trans. all factory, very reliable and cheap cause people don't seem to know that the tops come off like a K5, plus they use the same parts as the regular dodge pickups for engine and trans parts.

                          I like mine.

Here are some pictures. The only difference is now it doesn't have the running boards and it has 33" BFG tiresd on it now. It's a 6.2L diesel w/ a newer GM 700r4. It has 129k miles on it, with power windows, locks, rear window, cb, and A/C that works.
