Hi Calgunners, I have for sale my 1996 BMW 328i Sedan. It is a metallic silver in color and black leather on the interior. It has a clean title, current registration, and just passed smog. It's a 5 speed manual transmission. The car has 212K miles. The motor pulls as hard as the day it rolled out of the factory and the transmission is strong. The car is a totally accident free vehicle with all doors and body panels vin #'s matching. The front bumper was upgraded to an M3 bumper along with the side mirrors. The paint is original and still in phenomenal condition. The Interior is in great condition with no tears in drivers or passenger seats. No cracks in dash. Carpets are very clean. The battery is brand new along with fresh transmission flush, synthetic oil change, and a differential flush. The car has keyless entry and an alarm. The stereo is an alpine head unit with iPod connection in the glove box. The speakers are powered by a separate amplifier as well as a JL audio amp powering a JL 12W6 subwoofer. The car is equipped with the factory Harmon Kardon speaker system. It has power windows and a power sunroof. Both the drivers and passengers seats are powered with up down, front back, and recline functions which all work properly.
Things that could be improved
-The drivers side window motor is weak and you have to pull the window up to help close it. (all the other windows and sunroof are totally fine).
-The back bumper has some paint oxidation on the top and minor scuffs on back.
-The rear differential whines, The car drives fine but under some conditions you hear it. This is a common occurrence with the E36 generation BMW and some people live with it or some use different differential fluids to quite the diff down. (There is a constant source of cheap parts for the BMW E36 generation on craigslist so entire differentials can be found for $100).
-Power steering pump has a seep and makes an occasional whine
-The valve cover has a seep
-Both the seeps i mentioned above don't actually leak enough to drip fluid onto the ground.
-Scrape on the bottom of the front lip spoiler in corner (Shown in last Photo).
With all this said i will be reasonable with the price. Most E36's on craigslist are salvage title or have the automatic transmissions which are prone to failure. I was asking $2700 locally but for calguns i would sell it for $2150. I might be willing to sell cheaper if i pull the Sub and JL amp but i would leave the Alpine head unit and Amp powering the factory speakers.
If you have an questions please don't hesitate to ask.
