Rossi
Rio Grande, 6+1 capacity
30-30
Brentwood, CA (Northern California)
SOLD
Wouldn't make sense to ship, but if you want to pay for it, sure.
Looking to sell my Rossi Rio Grande in 30-30. She just sits in the safe and doesn't get used at all. I just purchased a .357 wheel gun and am looking to get a lever in the same caliber. So, my 30-30 is being sold. About the rifle:
1. Put 112 rounds down the tube.
2. Comes with the 112 rounds of brass for reloading (see pic).
3. Comes with 40 rounds of 150 grain and 40 rounds of 170 grain.
4. The stock has been cut approximately 1" to accommodate my shorter arms. The stock length of pull is a little long. I would have to drop from the shoulder to fully engage the lever. After the cut, I can keep it at the shoulder and cycle the lever while keeping on the target. I had this professionally done by our local gunsmith. He also installed the recoil pad.
5. I have finished the wood in urethane. It looks great and really allows the grain of the walnut to pop; plus it's totally weatherproof.
6. The action is VERY smooth. It has been disassembled and I used metal polish on all of the edges; then reassembled. It cycles great with no jams.
7. Comes with the factory scope rail. I took it off since I use the iron sights and I like the classic look without the rail.
Two notables:
1. You can see from the pics that there are a couple small dents in the stock.
2. When I first removed the scope rail, there was threadloc residue on the top of the receiver. I tried to remove it but ended up sanding off the blueing. I painted it black and it's very hard to notice it's not the original finish. With the scope rail on, you would never notice. But I didn't want to sell without disclosing this.
I am looking for a quick sale at $350. I saw a few on gunbroker going for $400, but then you would have to pay shipping and taxes. Plus, these don't include ammo. The ammo and brass alone is worth $100+.
This is a good shooting, good cycling, and good looking gun. It will also fit smaller-framed shooters due to the cut stock. It is not a safe queen - it's not perfect. But it's a shooter and you won't feel bad about taking it hunting in inclement weather.
I am in the East Bay, California. Would prefer a local transfer.
Thanks,
Jim
