SOLD: M1 Garand w Lots of Tiger Stripes (Stock Restoration in Progress w Pics)

5.8 Mil, Springfield Armory, M1 Garand.
    CMP Service Grade with documents.

    100% USGI
Not a Greek, Dane, Korean, nor any other foreign return.
    No import marks.

100% SA parts, including the hard to find
50's era SA Trigger Housing Group.

SA 4/55 barrel with low Muzzle Wear=1.0
So, I'd expect this to be a good shooter.

USGI Walnut Stock with P serif stamp and
    Defense Acceptance Stamp
    .
Stock has typical dents and scratches.
But, it presents very well compared to most USGI stocks.
Plenty of dramatic tiger stripes under the dirty finish. The striped grain runs extensively along BOTH sides of the stock from the butt to the magazine area. Typically, you find such striping on new production stocks, but rarely on old USGI stocks. Clean it up and you can have a sweet stock! Has a brass 63 under the pistol grip (from a US manufacturer, not a Greek or Dane).

    $SOLD or best offer,
    will ship to your door!

    No shipping after 12/31/2013.

I've begun to restore the stock, so here goes.
First step: degrease and remove old finish.

Right side. Best side of stock and most interesting.
Hang your new M1 and this stock will display well!

    Serif P and 1963 manufacturer's disc...
Remember, not an import stock, this is USGI

ELEVEN vertical tiger stripes on the left side...

Note the diamond pattern at the base of the pistol grip.

^^^ Extensive horizontal grain frames the tiger stripes vvv

Will do a bit more clean-up before moving to the next step.
