[b]Make: Mossberg
[b]Model: 185K-B
[b]Caliber: 20 guage, 2 3/4" shells
[b]Location (city or county): Oakland
[b]Price: Trade, + Cash on my part as needed
[b]Will ship (Y/N):No
[b]Other info:
I have a 20 guage bolt action shotgun by mossberg, two rounds in a removable magazine + one in the chamber, tang mounted safety. Last I checked CDNN had more mags. This has a C-lect choke Cyl/Mod/Full on the end with parallel slots behind it. Recoil is mild for a shotgun.
The Good:
-Don't have to worry about keeping it pretty for the safe
That being said it may view far nicer than I have described, the others I have seen are far worse for wear.
-Goes Bang! every time
-Lethal on rabbits, squirrels and grouse
-Should be good on Deer. Some ppl might say one should not shoot
slugs with it but I have (choke on Cyl) and others do. With copper free saboted slugs it grouped inside 5" at 50 yards but a consistent 8" below point of aim. Shoots rifled lead slugs much closer to point of aim but I forget the details.
-With 000 buck on a humanoid target it shot 3 pellets inside 3" at point of aim at 15 yards with another 5 pellets in the K Zone.
The Bad:
-It won't impress your snobby friends
-Best consistent pattern I could get on a Turkey target (Brain and spine) was 15 yards every time, that is 10 pellets in the spine or brainpan itself...not good enough for me, I need 35 yards, so I bought a Remington turkey gun.
-Has the usual marks on the stock, blueing is thin overall and an area
of mild pitting seen in the photo. I refinished the stock 20 years ago as well as used a DIY bluing kit, one might consider another reblue in that manner, easily done and cheap. The firearm disassembles more easily than anything else I have seen.
This would make a great truck gun or project (stock/barrel cutdown to legal dimensions?)
Looking to trade: .22 rifle/ .357 revolver/ .45 pistol/ hunting rifle
Will throw in cash on my part as needed. Please be within the SF Bay Area,
Might travel as far as Vacaville or San Jose for the right trade, that's it, and preferably closer to Oakland.
