Make: Springfield
Model: V-12
Caliber: 45 ACP
Location: San Francisco/Marin
Price: $1050
Will ship (Y/N): N
I have a rare Springfield V-12 Ported 1911 in excellent condition for sale. It is: Fullsize, Stainless Steel, 1911-A1 5" Barrel, 45acp 8+1 Capacity, V12 Ported, Target Sights, In Original Box, 2 - Wilson Combat Magazines.
Someone else described the ports better than I could:
"This gun has 2 Slots " Ports" cut into the top of the slide, revealing 12 Ported holes in the top of the Barrel. When the gun is fired the pressure (and some wicked flames) come out the top helping to keep the muzzle down for faster target reacquisition."
This is very cool gun. If the range you go to is dark enough, you will see flames shooting through the ports in the shape of a "V." Hence, the name, V-12.
The trigger has been changed out to a shorter trigger and the original grip safety was swapped with a smooth one that does not bite the palm of your hand. Work was done by gunsmith Frank Tabor of Tabor's Guns in San Bruno. I no longer have the original parts.
Unknown round count.
