What exactly on it makes it rare(obviously I'm referring to factory-delivered pieces, as the aftermarket turns everyone's weapons into 'rare' items ) and/or not made anymore?
The 'Full-Size Loaded Operator' certainly is still made. It's the one with the OD frame that everyone wants, and it comes with fixed night-sights.
      PX9105MLP
All Operators(at least the ones made currently) come with match grade barrels and triggers. The 'Lightweight Operator'-PX9116LP-comes with Cocobolo grips , and a full-length 2-piece guide rod, where the 'Loaded' comes with the standard GI(short) one.
The 'Lightweight' is roughly 7-8oz lighter than the 'Loaded' as well.
It certainly looks like one in the pics, as the grips look like Cocobolo's, but I'm far from a Springfield 1911 'expert', so it certainly may not be one.
I'd like to know for sure which one it actually is.
How old is it, and what about it makes you think it has around 1,000 rounds through it?

This gun is rare because they dont make full rail operators anymore, only half rail and probably non Rail too.

They no longer make a full rail operator with fixed sights. The internal parts are still made and will not be a problem for repair, if that is your worry.

This is exactly identical to knowing you make $27,000 a year, spending $37,000 a year, having $170,000 on the credit card and then whining that it's "unfair" when the card company won't let you run up another 10 large.

This, incidentally, is our Federal Government right here, right now, today -- just add the zeros to the above and you get our tax revenue, our spending, and our federal debt.

                    Ditto.

The second this thread was posted I was ready to take it. Alas, SoCal wins again! I would have taken it for the guys asking too.

Great deal and GL to whoever gets this.

How did they NOT put front checkering on the front strap... I thought they all had it.

No they don't... wraparound Pachmeyr rubber grips just sounds as if the grips were an afterthought to Springfield..
