The action serial is 6494xxx, which is 200K less than one I purchased in 1975. I don't know their production numbers for those years, but you can do the math if you do. ~1970?

The action appears to be CM. It was mated to a brand new (probably Krieger match) #5 contour CM barrel chambered in 280AI in 1990. The barrel has no numbers or proof marks. It definitely is NOT a rechambered Remingtom barrel. The muzzle diameter is .680" and .880" at the end of the stock. It was trued, extractor altered, trigger extremely well done and parkerized. It is a thin dull gray color. The stock is fiberglass, slick, and camo green/dark green (probably McMillan), very stiff, well bedded. The rig weighs 7#. It was expensive then, more than the asking price now. It includes 160 brass and the Redding 3-die set (neck, full length, and seating dies). I'll let the price stand. I don't have the original receipt. The gunsmith died in 1995. If I had to replace it with a similar rifle, I would have to pay more than double.

I worked up a decent load with 100 gr Sierra HP, 61.8 gr of IMR4350, 3500 fps.

I finally ended up using 140 gr Barnes X, 63.6 gr of Reloader 22 (3100 fps) for some obvious reason. That's a condor country bullet and the gun shoots better than I do.

I know this isn't the best time, nor the best place, to sell a high quality hunting rifle. If this ad doesn't float on its merits this time around I'll let it sink until summer or fall, when it will be much, much harder to find the gun's equal anywhere near this number.

An excellent long gun and big game rifle. Superior no-lead performance.

And the next line in the sand. Why anyone should have to register a bolt action wildcat is total bull.
