I have to agree with Jeff here. It's not likely someone will want your rifle AND have one of the cars you want. If you sell the rifle for actual money, you'll easily get a sale, then go get the car you want. There is a reason money was invented.

Why not give it a try. Just because you think its a fruitless venture does not make it so.

I had an offer early on that I should not have passed on. I had other offers that were not as interesting but I'm also not in a huge hurry. I can just keep it and pay cash for a car as well.
