    MK-8 LR308 WTS ** SOLD **

**SOLD** I am located in the San Jose Bay Area.

    Local PPT

CMMG MK8 LR-308 lower, DPMS upper
    Complete rifle, asking $1000
This rifle takes the HK G3 pattern mags. I have 5 rebuild kits I can add to the deal. Less than 100 rounds through this rifle. I have lost interest in the project and want to start a savage scout build.

      bump,
This is a home build. The finish is krylon OD green. The lower is a CMMG Mk-8, the upper is a DPMS LR308, BCG is a DPMS factory assemble, the gas system is DI,SI Defense 16" Barrel LR-308 1-10, DPMS rifle length forearm tube, SI muzzle break, Magpul MOE Stock.

Upper reciever was opened up to allow for the HK-g3 mag clearence by hand (Dremel / flat file) I used the specification posted on the SI Defense website.
The next step was going to be to block and dial in the magazines as there is some variation with the G3 mags. I do have mag blocks purchased from cali-mags.

One last bump, this is a great project that needs a little TLC to complete.

project mainly requires magazine fitting (filing the feed lips) as there seems to be variation in the g3 mag body

will the upper go on a new cmmg lower and function properly with normal ar10 mags?

Gdbr12 to answer you question, yes it should. Basically the inner sides of the upper have to get milled out a bit to fit the wider G3 mags. These lowers however are extremely rare. As far as im aware, only CMMG and SI Defense ever made them, and now both neither do, which is really bad timing for them, since G3 Mags are crazy cheap with the US being flooded with them now after germany switched to G36's.

These lowers go for about $500 if you can find one. $1k for the whole rife looks like a pretty good deal. Bump for a rare .308 AR!

This is the matching correct upper that does not require milling:

Yes the upper will fit on a standard DPMS LR308 lower. In reality it is a standard DPMS LR308 upper with a little machining as machrono mentioned to open up the inner walls to allow for clearance when using the g3 patterned mag's. Its a bit of a frankinstein sort of rifle which is what attracted me to the project. At this point she will go back in the safe and and when i get time (who knows when) I'll take the project back up and refine all my mag bodies for consistient feeding.
