Just a note: please read the description carefully! I will only perform transfers at Turner's Outdoorsman (Pasadena), Gunrunner's (Duarte), Gun World (Burbank) or PD Gun Supply (San Fernando, formerly IAC). I am located in Glendale.
At this time, I am not interested in trades. Check out the price and you'll see the value. Don't believe me? Shop around for how much an SPR configuration would be with tax and shipping, or how much dealers are asking for a comparable build on store shelves! Also, I accept cash only.
I like the rifle. A lot. However, I shoot it the least of those in my collection and I'm trying to save up for a Sig X-5. After shooting one of those beauties, let's just say I'm a VERY motivated seller!
Once we meet, you're free to take as long as you'd like to inspect the firearm, check the bore, ask questions, etc. After that, all sales are final.
AR-15 SPR Build

If you're looking to get into the AR platform with a minimal outlay of money and a quality build, this is the way to go. The upper assembly is a 5.56 DPMS 1:9 heavy barrel (I believe an 18", although the installed vortex flash hider adds a little more than 2" of overall length). The heavy barrel makes this pretty tolerant of heat changes, and 1:9 is a great twist rate for the 55 and 62 grain bullets you're most likely to find on store shelves. The barrel is surrounded by a free-floating YHM quad rail. A railed gas block is also installed. There are Magpul panels on the bottom and side rails.
Also included in the upper assembly is an enhanced bolt & carrier that have been MPI-checked (Magnetic Particle Inspection). I believe the bolt/carrier comes from BCM. Gas rings are still good, and the carrier key screws have been properly staked. The lower is a Lauer receiver with a DPMS parts kit installed. Stock and grip are of the A2 variety. The Shooter's Ridge adjustable bipod and picatinny rail adapter are FREE with the gun. 1 10-round Bushmaster magazine is included, and a bullet button has been affixed to the lower receiver.
This is an AR that does what I ask it to and runs like a top. I don't baby this thing, either, so it runs well dirty. From the bench, I can get 1MOA with match ammo (Black Hills Gold or a friend's hand loads) and about 2MOA with anything I can stuff into the magazine. It's accurate enough to bust shotgun clays a football field away and send rounds onto the Angeles steel targets at 400 yards out. Any farther away than that and it's hard for me to hear the impact of .223 on steel. Very solid and reliable, and hand loaders will really be able to make this rifle perform to its fullest potential. This thing is ready to rock and roll as soon as you bring it home.
Please note that the scope and rings ARE NOT included with this listing. If you're interested in this optic (a Nikon Buckmaster 3x9 with the Bullet Drop compensating reticle), I can sell it and the rings for $75 (more than half off retail!) added onto the base price of the rifle (which would bring it up to $825 total). I also have quite a bit of extra .223 that I can sell with the rifle at a good price... just ask.
