    1911 Colt Combat Commander 38 Super plus Ammo! SPF

    Very nice Colt for sale. This is a 1981 70 series Combat Commander 38 Super. It has an 80 series serial number but is a 70 series. Supposedly they ran out of numbers. I don't know the round count on the gun and have never fired it. I took this in on a trade. Trigger appears to have been upgraded/modified. No dings, scratches or holster wear. Comes with 6 Mags. 5 are Colt stamped mags. Two are polished, two brushed nickel, one is black to match the gun (original mag) and the after market mag is stamped "Made in Italy". Also comes with 750 rounds of ammo. All good ammo. 40 of the rounds are Cor Bon hollow points. This is a chance to own a rare excellent gun that doesn't come up often. $1500 obo for everything. I was unsure what to price it at so make an offer if you are interested. I will not be offended and you might get lucky.

                  Fyi looks like Grips and beavertail are not original along with trigger as you mentioned. possibly mainspring housing also, hard to tell from pictures. Combat commanders are not series 70 guns but yours should be absent the firing pin block like the series 70's

                      You are right. No firing pin lock. When I called Colt to date it for me they told me it was a 70's series but maybe they meant the absent firing pin lock.

                                      They hold 9 rounds. They do make 38 super mags that hold 10 rounds but these are 9 rounds mags. Colt only makes 9rd mags for the 38 super.

                                      Can we know what kind of ammo comes with it?

                                          The ammo should be in the first picture. I thought I counted 762 rounds. 9 boxes of Fiochhi, 4 of American Eagle, 1 Magtech, 2 Cor Bon. One of the boxes is 3/4 full. I can get specifics tonight.
