I've only put maybe 30 rounds down the pipe. I've found the extraction to be tough with some ammo and smooth as butter with others. With the hotter rounds I have to bang to open the bolt, but with the milder rounds (particularily Talon) bolt opens with no problems.

As for accuracy, I've never really shot it past 100 to know it's potential. And as you know, a 50 bmg round doesn't even even stabilize till after about 200 yards. So if you are getting that 2.5 MOA at a hundred, don't be suprised if you find it gets smaller at longer distances. Also, not sure about your barrel, but I opted to get it with the match grade Lothar Walther barrel and not the standard Mossberg barrels they are using now. That may have an effect on accuracy too.

As for scope. Don't skimp on rings or the scope. I have heavy duty IOR Valdada rings and a huge 10x56 IOR Valdada on mine. And if you know Valdada scopes, they are built like tanks. I have had other 50's destroy my SuperSniper (twice) and other scopes. These light weight 50's are brutal on scopes.

I am a little confused on the FN49...does the magazine detach or not? If not, then I assume you must load one round at a time via the top while the bolt is locked back?

On the SAFN-49, this is a true detachable magazine (the only FN49 Version that does). And it is a 20 round 308 (7.62x51) mag. It can also take stripper clips through the top.

Only a 5,000 were created for the Argentinan Navy, and of those 5,000 only a few thousand made it into the US. This is one of the more rare and desirable FN49 type rifles out there.

The SAFN-49 is the granddaddy of the FAL. It's battle proven, bullet proof and considered by many the "last great battle rifle".

                    I knew about the 8mm, 30-06, but I didn't even know about the .308 FN-49....That is a beautiful rifle.
