Sold: Colt Officer's Model Match, 6" barrel, 38 Special, in excellent condition, dosen't appear to have been fired very much if at all. No ring mark from the cylinder locking bolt around the cylinder like a revolver gets when it has been fired a lot. No firing marks on the front of the cylinder. Bore looks like new. No rust marks. I recall from the sales tag when I bought this gun used a couple of years ago it was made in 1969.

Note: In light of some of the comments about the Colt be eligible for C&R status I will ship to your dealer but 'YOU' must check first with the dealer to verify this fact and have them emial me with the info. Thank you.

I live in North Hollywood and can meet you at any gun store in the San Fernando Valley for the PPT. I am also willing to travel to Turner's in Pasadena or Ammo Bros. in Cerritos as well. I am willing to ship the rifle but not the Colt. Because the Colt is not on the approved list in California it can only be transfered through a face to face PPT. The only exception would be if you are a peace officer or you have a permit or exemption that allows you to buy handguns that are not on the approved list. If you are in one of these catagories I will ship to the dealer of your choice. The buyer pays all PPT and shipping costs. If you want either gun please say "I'll take it" and then PM me with your info. If you say "I'll take it" you are agreeing to buy the gun for the advertised price and you are agreeing to the sale conditions listed above. I don't want any "oh, since we are here at the store and youv'e driven all this way would you take $50 less?". If you do this to me the deal is off and I will walk out the door with the gun! Please make sure you are serious about the sale and understand the issues with shipping handguns to a dealer for transfer.

Please be sure to ask questions if you are unsure about anything!!! No trades!!!!!!!!

    Sincerely, Paul Taylor

The Colt Officer Model Match is a Curio and Relic per BATFE and may be exempted under
the Handgun Roster list. Great price on it,also! Pete

Indeed, good deal on Saiga. Too bad it's not 5.45x34, otherwise I would jump all over.

Re: C&R status for Colt Officers Model Match

That's news to me about the Colt being a C&R. I thought C&R status was based on when the gun was manufatured not necessarily the model. I know that this model has been made since at least the thirties since is is listed in my Colt Centenial catalog, so I can believe a gun that old would be C&R. Since this particular gun is less than 40 years old I wouldn't think it had achieved the level of being a C&R. I sold a Python of mid sixties vintage last year and a guy in San Jose wanted to buy it but after talking with his dealer the delear said he could not transfer it because only the 6" Stainless Python was on the approved list. This state sucks!

Age is NOT necessarily the determing factor in BATF C&R status. Pete

LINK to C&R list--see Section II page 20 for Colt

Thanks for the info Pete. I saw a Colt Trooper Mark III of about the same vintage at a dealer in San Diego last December that was marked 'Law Enforcement Only' and when I asked why the dealer said it was because the gun was no longer on the approved list and could only be sold to a private party via a face to face PPT. He explained that since he had taken it into his stock and it was no longer a private party sale and the Colt wasn't on the approved list he could no longer sell it to a private party! Sometimes the laws in this state make you want to claw your eyes out, or better the good folks in Sacramento!
