Private Party Transfers?

Apologies if this is the wrong forum, but I need to know what the proper procedures are for purchasing a firearm via private party from outside of CA.

Would someone with this knowledge please provide me with information?

Depend if it's either long arm or pistol. If you wish to import a pistol from out side of CA, it has to meet all the requirements DOJ listed (such as 10rd mag, on the Roster...etc). Than the pistol has to be ship to your FFL dealer, and your dealer will charge you $25 to DROS and whatever he/she wish to charge. Unlike regular PPT, dealers do not have legal limit, so most dealer will charge you an arm and a leg for doing out of state transfer fee, $100~150 is NOT unhear of (usually $50~75 is about the common price).

Some pistols is exempt from these, like single action revolver. Or single shot pistols. And long gun work different than pistols. Bottom line, let us know what you were interesting to import, so we can give you more direct answers.
