    WTS:(SOLD)U.S. Springfield Armory M1 Garand

    More pictures at www.photobucket.com/m1917
(SOLD)Up for sale is a beautiful Springfield Armory M1 Garand rifle. This is a CMP rifle. It has 60% to 70% plus finish. The barrel is very bright and shiny with good lands and grooves and gauges 3.5 for muzzle, and a hair over 3 for TE on a Stone Axe gauge. This has a very nice looking Springfield Armory stock with a nice DOD stamp on the side and a seriffed P in a cirle on the grip. There are 2 small brass repair pins in the front handguard that can be seen in the pictures.
The serial number is 43307xx,that puts it at a 1953 date.Barrel is a 8-53,that appears to be original to receiver. Most parts appear to be original correct for the serial number except the bolt.Parts are as follows,
    Barrel, 8-53 SA
    Bolt, D28287-19SA
OP Rod, 6528290 SA with relief cut
    Trigger Housing, 6535382 SA
    Elevation Knob, NFC
    Windage Knob, DRC
    Gas Cyl Lock, high hump
Gas Cyl Lock Screw, P O
    Front Sight,5/8" wide
Here is your chance to have a very good looking M1 Garand. It will come with a CMP guide book that shows you how to disassemble and reassemble, care and clean the M1 Garand Rifle.
This is a C&R rifle over 50 years old,so a FTF cash and carry deal is O.K.I need to copy down your drivers license info for my bound book.
I am asking(SOLD)$750.00 OBO for this very nice rifle.First,I will take it post followed with a PM will get it.I am in Hayward. Thanks for looking....

Absolutely beautiful wood on your Garand!

I'm very tempted but I ,too, own a 1953 CMP Garand (all numbers matching) though your wood is much nicer than mine. Is it original?
