SOLD *ANTIQUE* Bringback Kabul Arsenal Martini Henry Carbine .577/450 *Reduced*

    Make: Kabul Arsenal

    Model: Martini-Henry Carbine

    Caliber: .577/450

    Location: Rancho Cucamonga

    Price: SOLD

Will ship: Would prefer local sale, but might ship.

Other info: For sale is a documented bringback (with bringback papers from Afghanistan) Kabul Arsenal Martini-Henry Carbine in .577/450. This was brought home by an Army Chief Warrant Officer with the 101st Airborne Division. The story is that he bought it from a Bazaar on Bagram, and sent it back to the states. The rifle's condition is about what you'd expect from a gun that came from the middle east, the finish is in the white, some areas with old rust, some with some current surface rust. The bore is good for its age and the stock/forend is in pretty good condition with some handling marks, and dings/dents from age/storage/use. The forend has a nice "Feathering/tiger-stripe" pattern to it which is really nice looking. The rifle is dated in the Hajri calendar, the year 1316, which in our calendar, dates to 1898 so this is legally an antique that you can cash/carry, without a PPT. These are factory-made guns using British tooling, machinery, and under British supervision so these are not Khyber pass guns. However, I suspect several parts (namely rear sight, possibly the breech block, split pin, and extractor screw) are Khyber pass replacements, and I'd personally advise against shooting it, but if you DO decide to, please have it inspected by a professional gunsmith, familiar with these guns. The rear sight I believe to be a Khyber replacement since the increments are in nonsensical graduations. The rifle dry fires and the action opens as it should, though I'd recommend that it gets a thorough cleaning by the next owner. I'd prefer a local sale but might ship. The price is firm and I think it's fair, given that it is a documented bringback with bringback paperwork. I will include the bringback papers, and I can email the next owner a digital copy of them if they wish. The barrel is stamped "1880" which was just a requirement for them to be able to be sent to the US since these did not have traditional dates on them, as the British versions do. Not looking for trades at the moment, strictly cash only.

I talked to an expert on these Kabul Arsenal Martini Henry's and this is what he said:
