SOLD Marlin Model 1895CB 45-70, 9+1 Cowboy Action

    Marlin

    Model 1895CB

    45-70 Gov.

    Rocklin

    $725

No trades, I need to make some room.

Using the on-line sources for Marlin dating system, the serial number would indicate 2006 as date of manufacture.

Prefer not to ship because it's always best for everyone to examine guns in person, but might consider shipping in-state with the right conditions.

I bought this for the annual SASS "timed, distance, lever gun" category in the competition. Found that my ammo for 34" barrel single shot long distance was not realistic for competing with the 26" barrel. I didn't want to make a new load recipe for the shorter barrel and never took it out again!

With a 405gr lead bullet with molybdenum coating and groove lube at about 1650 FPS, the buckhorn rear site is good to 300 meters.

Only smokeless powder used the 2 times I used it. There is a very small amount of sling buckle rash on rear stock shown in pic.
