Underwood m1 carbine in original configuration. All parts correct for time period; very minor pitting at a spot or two on the receiver and some discoloration on the metal. Barrel is dated 12-43. I got this at an auction a few years ago with the correct tan c-tip sling, underwood oiler, and underwood mag. The rifle was covered in some type of varnish; I stripped it and coated it with BLO. Wood is in great condition and the stamps are perfect (perhaps due to the varnish that was precting them). It does have a AAB Arsenal stamp...curiously, it appears nothing has been changed out on the rifle. Maybe another collector can shed some light on that and whether a portion of the carbines were simply inspected and sold through the DCM at that point? I'm asking $1200. Located in 29 palms (hour away from Palm Springs); I don't wish to ship at this moment but would travel a little to meet. Thanks for looking.
